Winning Federal Government Business

Challenges and Opportunities

Diarmuid O’Casey - Chief Solutions Architect

ACS Federal Solutions

Every day seems to bring more bad financial news. Facing the deepest recession and most serious economic crisis since the end of WWII, the new Obama administration announced the government will play a more active role in the economy. The $700 Billion Financial Stability Plan and the $787 Billion Stimulus Plan represent only some of the funding available for government backed programs.

How does the government market differ from the commercial market? What are the opportunities and pitfalls of the government market? How can companies effectively compete within the government framework? What are the unique characteristics of government contracting and sub contracting?

· Competition - Is it truly "fair and open?" If not, why not?

· Why do the prime contractors and incumbents always seem to win?

Types of Contracting Vehicles

· What are IDIQ, BPA and GSA Schedule contracts?

· What are contract bundling and teaming arrangements?

· GSA Schedules - Why should I get one? We have one, what’s next?

Future presentation topics:

“Trends in the Mobile Worlds”

Rihanna established her dance-pop credentials in summer 2005 with her debut smash hit, "Pon de Replay," and continued to demonstrate such hit potential in subsequent years (e.g., "S.O.S." in 2006; "Umbrella" in 2007; "Disturbia" in 2008). However, it was the singer's third album, Good Girl Gone Bad, that made her a full-fledged international pop star with a regular presence atop the charts. Born Robyn Rihanna Fenty on February 20, 1988, in Saint Michael, Barbados, she exhibited a certain star quality as a young child, often winning beauty and talent contests.

At one point, though, Rihanna did enter a beauty and talent pageant at her school. Singing Mariah Carey's "Hero" as part of the talent component, Rihanna went on to win the competition. But that performance -- and singing in the shower or in front of the mirror -- was the extent of her musical experience before 2004. Rihanna news and gossip.
